As I was finishing the epilogue of this sweet, sweet book and starting the process of looking for a publisher, one of our adult sons was diagnosed with Stage 4 Nodular Melanoma that had metastasized to his liver, lungs and abdomen. There is no cure for Stage 4 Nodular Melanoma, but his oncologist suggested triple targeted chemo to help prolong his life. Life expectancy without any treatment was four to six months, so he agreed to the treatments. Five months into the treatments the chemo started to attack his organs. He lost over 30 pounds in one month and ended up in ICU. He was so sick and so weak and his voice sounded so small. He needed to make a decision on whether to continue the treatments or stop treatments altogether. At that same time, he heard about some naturalistic treatments out of state, so he decided to try them. He did feel a little better after a month of those treatments, did not lose any more weight and decided to come home. While out of state, he had met an oncologist who was sure he could help get rid of some of the larger tumors. So, he packed up and went back on a Wednesday. The plan was that on Thursday he would go for a Pet scan in the morning and then meet with the oncologist in the afternoon to learn when the treatments would begin. I will never forget that Thursday. He face timed me in the middle of the day and was crying. As soon as I saw him I cried with him and waited for him to speak. He finally said, "The doctor can't even believe it..." I waited and he said, "I went into his office and he said 'We're not going to start treatment because there is no cancer.'" The pet scan was totally clear! Jesus had healed him totally and completely! Our whole family was changed that day. All we could talk about was our miracle. God changed us. He was at work in us. Every single one of us changed and was closer to God, telling everyone about Jesus and His healing Power.
When this sweet little book was finally published, our lives were different. I was different. God is so amazing.
